IGES to STL Converter

Convert IGES (.iges, .igs) files to STL online — free, no sign-up, no watermark. Conversion runs entirely in your browser via WebAssembly, so your files never leave your computer.

How IGES to STL conversion works

  1. Drop your IGES file (.iges or .igs) above.
  2. The OpenCASCADE geometry kernel loads on demand as WebAssembly — about 50 MB, cached after the first run.
  3. IGES surfaces and solids are tessellated into a triangle mesh and exported as STL.
  4. Preview the mesh in 3D and download the .stl file.

Why convert IGES to STL?

IGES (Initial Graphics Exchange Specification) is one of the oldest neutral CAD formats, still common for legacy parts, supplier data and surface models. 3D printers, however, need STL meshes. This converter reads the IGES geometry with the OpenCASCADE kernel and produces a clean, watertight-oriented STL mesh suitable for slicing in Cura, PrusaSlicer or Bambu Studio.

FAQ

Is the IGES to STL converter free?
Yes — unlimited use, no account, no watermark.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs locally in your browser via WebAssembly. Your CAD data never touches a server.
What mesh quality do I get?
Models are tessellated with 0.1 mm linear deflection — a good balance of detail and file size for 3D printing.
My IGES file failed to convert. Why?
Common causes: the file is corrupted, it contains only 2D drawing entities, or it uses an exotic IGES flavor. Try exporting it again from your CAD software as STEP AP214 and use the STEP converter.
